NOTD! (Drugstore)

Please excuse the crappy application..its late and I'm tired! BUT I am loving this combo! I'm feeling the need to get my last cute summery nail looks in before fall.

This is a total drugstore look using a Hard Candy polish in "Sweet Tooth" and a Sinful Colors SinfulShine with Gel Tech in "Wisp". I don't particularly like either color on its own, unless I do a few super thick coats and lets face it, ain't no body got time for that! But one thin coat of Wisp underneath a slightly thicker coat of Sweet Tooth is perfect.

Hard Candy's "Sweet Tooth" is a very sheer, milky white color base with a slight blue tint. The glitters in it are blue, silver, and a pink/lavender. I absolutely love several things about this polish.

First, I love that the glitters don't clump up when you paint it on like a lot of glitter polishes do. Even though they are pretty large pieces, they sit very well in the base when applied rather than grabbing onto the brush so you're left with a nail of glitterless clear polish.

I also love the actual base. It is thick enough to leave an "opaque" coat, yet still thin enough to dry quick. The consistency of it also allows the glitter to float in it instead of sinking into it or just laying flat on top. This causes the polish to have a 3d effect, especially after two coats.

Sinful Colors "Wisp" is a white cream polish from the SinfulShine collection. It is marketed as a "gel-like polish", but I don't find them to last any differently than regular polish. I have a few colors from this line and they are all very pretty colors, but nothing spectacular as far as quality and wear time.

I do find these polishes perfect for a base coat to any glitter or textured polish. They  are thick enough with one coat to prime the nail, and still thin enough to dry quickly and not have an inch of polish to chisel off. If you do plan to wear them alone, I recommend a good top coat..I do not like the way they look when they dry. I find that they dry to a dull finish, not shiny like they claim to. But hey..you win some, you lose some.

Over all I give this combo a two thumbs up. As far as the polishes individually, one and a half thumbs up (possible?)..only because I don't like either polish on its own.

Have a good day tomorrow and check back soon for my next post :)

Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Ummm..I LOVE THESE!

The two I have are #015 Cherish (the lighter pink) and #020 Lovesick (the darker pink). Below is a swatch of only one swipe of each color..so yes, I'd say they are pretty pigmented! The darker one is definately a brighter pop of color on your lips that I am too excited to wear for fall even though I have been rocking it all week. The lighter one isnt as bright, but still puts a good bit of color on your lips and looks nice. Its perfect for a "mascara and lip gloss only" lazy day.

As far as application goes, these are so easy. I dont even use a mirror to apply them throughout the day. They really do apply identical to a lip balm. I do reapply Cherish a little more often because I do find it to be a little drying..I'm thinking maybe its because of the slight sparkle that it has, which can easily be fixed by a gloss or chapstick in addition to it. I also dont find Cherish to stain my lips as much as the other either. Lovesick on the other hand will last ALL day on my lips and is quite moisturizing. I do reapply around the middle of the day just to freshen it up while I powder my face, but I could definately make it til after my 9-5 without touching it.

The packaging is great too. It has the typical "twist up crayon" thing going..similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks. Very travel friendly. I dont find the caps to come off easily either, which i have a huge priblem with when it comes to some other products that do not have a twist-on cap.

I give give these 5 stars..I cannot find one thing that I'm not loving about them. I want to try some more colors..definately a red and some darker colors for fall..maybe a coral too. However, I do think i will stick with ones with no shimmer/sparkle for the longer wearing aspect.

Hope ya'll enjoyed this review, more to come soon!
